The first modern Olympic Games was held in Athens in 1896 and in 2004, the Games will return to their origins as Athens hosts the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad. With reference to the Ancient Olympics, some of Singapore's popular Olympic sports namely athletics, swimming, weightlifting and sailing, are graphically illustrated on pebbles in this commemorative set of stamps.
