From the 1850s until the early 1960s, steam locomotives were a feature of the British landscape from Penzance to Wick. Due to the dedication of enthusiasts who continue to maintain these impressive engines, the public can still experience steam travel on preserved lines all around the UK, as these Special Stamps reveal.
